Rome, 8 May 1938. Hitler has arrived to meet Mussolini, welcomed grandly by nearly the entire city populace. Antoinetta, a downtrodden wife and mother of six children, meets Gabriel, who isn't attending the welcoming ceremony, either. Due to his homosexuality, he has lost his job as a radio announcer, and he expects to be sent into exile. In their loneliness, the two polar opposites draw closer, and in the short time they spend together, they develop a longing for a better life, free of mindless violence.
A digital restoration of the film will be screened with the generous aid of the Italian Institute in Bratislava.
