After twenty years, Nina’s marriage to Wojtek is going nowhere, partly because of their failed attempts to conceive a child. When they meet a young woman, Magda, they propose that she be a surrogate mother for their child. But things get complicated when Nina suddenly feels attracted to the free-thinking Magda. This remarkable debut paints a sensitive portrait of a strong yet confused woman trapped in her role as wife and daughter. Particularly worthy of note is Tomasz Naumiuk’s precise camerawork, which seems to breathe along with the three protagonists, creating an atmosphere quivering with sensuality.
