16-year-old Lara lives with just her dad and her little brother. To achieve her dream of becoming a professional ballet dancer, she’s willing to do whatever it takes. But besides her demanding studies, Lara is also fighting another fierce battle – since she was a child, she has known that she was born into the wrong body. Despite undergoing hormone therapy since the onset of puberty, her body, burdened by intense training, isn’t yet ready for sex reassignment surgery (until which, in her view, her transition will not be complete). Even with the unconditional support of those around her, Lara is constantly confronted by herself, her body, her fears and her hopes.
