Dali – a make-up artist and fashion designer in the "fashion house" of his queer parents Papshiekels and Mamshiekels – would definitely get your attention walking down the street. Red hair, style for miles, and a walk that leaves no room for doubt. In short, Dali fits right into his queer family. And so life is lovely, colourful and fun; that is, until he falls in love with Angel, a vivacious girl from a family where the men have biceps the size of Dali's waist. Dali suddenly finds himself in a pickle – how to explain to his parents that he's, well, not 100% gay?
Percy Intalan is one of the few queens of LGBTQ cinema, and if you dig deep, you'll surely remember his Born Beautiful. The film I Love You, Beksman once again exemplifies his expert balancing of glee, vibrant colour and gut-busting hilarity with reminders of reality. Add the performance of the marvelous Christian Bables and you get an upbeat camp cocktail about stereotypes, identity and sexuality.
