Toni, an aging art dealer, is celebrating his birthday with his family at his country home. But Toni has a surprise in store – he announces his plans to marry his partner, Carlo. Toni’s daughter Penelope is vehemently opposed to the idea, and with Carlo’s son Sandro as her accomplice, she decides to put a stop to it. In this comedy, the hot summer and even hotter Italian passion take centre stage, so before they slice the wedding cake, Toni’s kin have to work out the kinks in their relationships and expectations, as well as overcome class differences and their own, sometimes well-hidden, homophobia.
